This book is an updated re-issue of the first three books in the Summer series. It's kind of weird reading about Saves The Day instead of the Butthole Surfers, but oh well.
I loved these books when they first came out and reading them at 30 hasn't diminished the appeal.

Plot? Well, Summer comes home in depressed because the guy she's been crushing on completely ignores her. She gets the chance to go to Florida for the summer.
Only...her cousin Diana doesn't really want her there and gets Summer to stay in a broken-down shack, the guy she flirts with (and kisses)at the airport has a girlfriend, and the shack is being occupied by a guy who only wears swim trunks and claims he can talk to a pelican!
It's not all bad, though. She makes a new friend and gets a job...and I didn't even mention the airplane psychic!
This is a fun, easy read followed by Spring Break (Summer).

Words can't describe how good this book is!! It may be long but honestly once you start reading you can't stop. I'd recommend this to any teen in search of an amazing drama filled summer book.
I bought the book used, but it was on good conditions when it arrived. It arrived promptly and now Im enjoying it. Its a fun summer book to enjoy!
I have read these 8times and twice already as an adult I was on my way to Florida in sophomore year and found this in the airport. I couldn't out it down!!!!
I really enjoyed the setting of the book and found it a typical teenage story. At some places it dragged and at others I couldn't put the book down. The writing style is pretty basic and lacks the detail and sophistication I've become used to. Also, the story lacks action, its very laid back but quite enjoyable.
I read these series of books back when I was in high school (omg 15 years ago) and I just loved them. I read the whole series over and over again, because as a girl from Minnesota it was a totally relatable story and I just loved imagining myself in Summer's place down there in Crab Claw Key, Florida. I purchased each paperback back then (I think there were 8 of them) and read them to tatters. I was thrilled to see the 6 main books bundled into 2 collections for the kindle and purchased them this morning. I am really loving the fact that they have been updated! For example, on the plane to Florida Summer used to refer to Seth as looking like Stone from general hospital and now she compares him to Jake G., and when Marquez first meets Summer her walkman has been upgraded to an iPod. I look forward to finishing this series again and seeing what else has changed! I highly recommend reading this series.
I loved this book, I read the original first book in middle school (12 years ago?) and recently wanted to reread it. I looked all over and kept trying to remember details to figure out the name of it. Finally found it and found all the subsequent books and Im so glad I did!
Amazing book to read. I really got into it within the first 10 mins that I started reading this book. I love it and I would really read it over and over again. this is a book I would recommend people to read.
